Tuning Accuracy

Your side-blown bansuri is tuned with a tanpura at A=440Hz in Just Temperament, which is the standard for Hindustani Classical music. All direct-blown flutes are tuned in Equal Temperament (used in Western music), allowing you to play more than one key from the first or root note. Tuning is one of the most crucial aspects of Indian Classical music, and it is recommended to check tuning with a tanpura or a teacher rather than relying on digital tuners or apps.
